Here is part of an email I received from my agency..nothing new, but thought I would share:
I’m writing to thank you for your support through prayer and fasting on behalf of orphans waiting to be adopted. I was able to meet with officials from the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) to discuss a number of the issues that have arisen with the China Program over the last year or so.
The issue that I sought the most clarity on was the increased wait-time that families are experiencing. The CCAA is, in many ways, experiencing problems due to their own success. China has been a reliable and stable adoption option for inter-country adoption for over ten years – and with other countries causing problems (Russia and Guatemala are two big sending countries that have had problems recently) the number of dossiers being sent to the CCAA is far more than ever before. The CCAA gets thousands of dossiers a month, from all over the world, and countries that have never worked with China in the past are lining up to work there.
The CCAA staff believes that the new restrictions (going into effect on May 1st) will restrict the number of dossiers being sent to their office—and will eventually allow for the wait-time to decrease. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know when this will start to be evident for our waiting families. The CCAA staff will also be coordinating new ways to help special needs and older children find homes. This summer will be the beginning of a focus on new projects the CCAA will be undertaking to help ensure more of China’s orphans can find families.
My prayer is the children who could be adopted in China—but aren’t yet registered with the CCAA—would be registered quickly. There are still a number of orphanages that have never sent children to the CCAA and these are the orphanages and children who need our prayer the most.

Thanks for sharing. It is just as we thought. LOTS of dossiers! :)
Thanks for posting your letter. It's good to know what is going on, even when it is not the best news for us.
P.S. I tagged you for the "closet challenge". Check out my blog.
Hugs,
Jonni
